Ready to celebrate one of the most popular holidays in the Rio Grande Valley? With such a rich diversity thanks to the Valley’s unique location, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated to commemorate the triumph of the Mexican army at the Battle of Puebla. Most people spend this time celebrating with their families and friends with food, activities and music. While we know that many will barbeque or cook at home, we want to give you another alternative. Instead of cooking something yourself, save some time and dirty dishes by stopping by Delia’s! Enjoy more time with your friends and family with a delicious serving of all of your favorite tamales!
YOUR FAVORITE TAMALES
There are plenty of tamale types to choose from this Cinco de Mayo. In fact, we have 19 different types to choose from! It’s a range suitable for every taste bud – from bean and cheese to corn veracruzano chicken. We even offer vegetarian options that have no pork fat for those wanting a healthier alternative.
What makes our tamales some of the best in Texas is the long history behind our company. Starting as a means to earn income, Delia and her sister sold tamales door-to-door and business-to-business. After building a base of loyal customers, she outgrew her kitchen due to the heavy demand and opened her first location in South McAllen in 1998. After a successful inauguration, Delia soon opened several more locations all across Hidalgo County. With each location, she stayed true to the taste and quality that made her tamales so popular. With just one bite, you will understand why Delia’s is a Rio Grande Valley favorite.
We’re also known for our mouthwatering menudo that’s perfect for your cozy Saturday or Sunday. Menudo is a favorite that’s full of flavor and kick. Many swear by its taste and even claim it’s the perfect way to cure a hangover. With traditional ingredients like tripas, chile rojo and black pepper, we promise that it’s the perfect morning pick-me-up or lunchtime meal.
WHAT OUR FANS ARE SAYING
“I love them! First, let me say that we are in Houston and I’ve had Delia’s before but had to share this great tamale obsession that I have with my friends. The packaging was awesome and the tamales came in frozen and with great flavor. Keep up the great work and open a store in Houston…please!” – Stefanie De La Rosa
“You all need to come to the Midland/Odessa area and show them what real tamales taste like! Sad to say that this area makes poor-tasting tamales! You have spoiled us for everyone else…and I love it!” – Ida G. Gonzalez
“We received our tamales yesterday and enjoyed them today at our school, Lillie J. Jackson, in Lewisville, TX. We absolutely loved them! They were the best!” – Anna Medrano Garza
“We are originally from the RGV and live in Austin. Being six hours away doesn’t stop us from ordering your delicious tamales online. I love receiving packages like these in the mail.” – Brenda Vasquez
