Tamale Takeover
For over 30 years, Delia’s has been specializing in tamales. Delia and her sister realized that their tamales were beloved in the Rio Grande Valley after building up a strong clientele of loyal customers. Outgrowing her kitchen, Delia’s opened her first location in South McAllen in 1998. With hundreds of customers lining up during Christmas and lunch hours, one location was not going to meet this demand.
As a result, a second location opened in Pharr in 2003. Shortly thereafter, a third appeared in Edinburg in 2006. A fourth and fifth location in Mission and San Juan followed in 2008. In 2012, a second location in North McAllen was added. With each location, she’s kept true to the taste and quality that has made her so popular.
